2026 Santa Clara County Farmers Market Guide
Fresh Produce, Local Vendors, and Weekend Rituals Across Silicon Valley
One of the easiest ways to get a feel for a community is to spend a morning at its farmers market.
You see how people gather. You notice what families do on the weekend. You find the flower vendor shoppers return to week after week, the berry stand with the line, the bakery table that sells out early, and the prepared-food booth that turns a quick produce stop into a neighborhood ritual.
Santa Clara County has a strong farmers market scene, with options ranging from larger destination markets in Mountain View, Campbell, Saratoga, Palo Alto, and Sunnyvale to smaller neighborhood markets in San Jose, Santa Clara, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Cupertino.
Below is a city-by-city guide to the Santa Clara County farmers markets and seasonal farmstand stops locals are most likely to use.
Market schedules can change because of holidays, weather, construction, seasonal programming, and vendor availability. Before heading out, it is always smart to confirm hours with the market operator.
Campbell
Campbell Farmers Market
When: Sundays, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Where: Downtown Campbell, along East Campbell Avenue
Best for: A lively Sunday morning, downtown strolling, breakfast, coffee, produce, prepared foods, and a strong community feel.
Campbell is one of the South Bay’s most consistently loved farmers markets. It has the right mix of fresh produce, prepared food, downtown energy, and walkability. This is a great market for people who want their farmers market trip to feel like part of a relaxed Sunday routine rather than a quick errand.
Local favorites to watch for:
Shoppers often talk about the variety here, especially seasonal fruit, vegetables, eggs, baked goods, flowers, and prepared foods. Depending on the week and season, this is the kind of market where you can pick up groceries, grab something to eat, and still feel like you had a Sunday outing.
Good to know:
Downtown Campbell makes this market especially easy to pair with brunch, coffee, shopping, or a walk through town.
Cupertino
Creekside Farmers Market
When: Fridays, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Where: 10455 Miller Avenue, Cupertino
Best for: A weekday morning produce run.
De Anza College Farmers Market
When: Sundays, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Where: De Anza College, 21250 Stevens Creek Boulevard
Best for: A practical Sunday market with convenient West Valley access.
Cupertino has two helpful options: Creekside on Fridays and De Anza on Sundays. Creekside is a good choice for a weekday produce stop, while De Anza is especially useful for West Valley residents who want a straightforward Sunday market without needing to drive into a more crowded downtown setting.
What to expect:
Produce, flowers, eggs, baked goods, specialty foods, and prepared items may vary by week. De Anza’s college location generally makes it convenient for parking and access.
Best for residents:
Cupertino, West San Jose, Saratoga, and Sunnyvale residents can all use De Anza as an easy Sunday option.
Gilroy
St. Louise Regional Hospital Farmers Market
When: Fridays, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Where: 9400 No Name Uno, Gilroy
Best for: A Friday produce stop or lunch-hour market visit.
Downtown Gilroy Farmers Market
When: Sundays, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Where: Downtown Gilroy
Best for: South County residents, weekend browsing, fresh produce, hot food, and small local vendors.
Gilroy’s market options reflect the city’s agricultural roots and South County lifestyle. St. Louise offers a convenient Friday market, while the Downtown Gilroy market gives residents and visitors another reason to spend time in the downtown core.
Local flavor:
Expect a more relaxed pace than some of the larger Silicon Valley markets. Gilroy can be a good fit for shoppers who want fresh produce, prepared food, and a casual community feel.
Good to know:
Because Gilroy’s downtown market details may shift by season or operator, confirm the exact location before heading out.
Los Altos
Downtown Los Altos Farmers Market
When: Thursdays, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Season: Spring through fall
Where: State Street, between Second and Fourth Streets
Best for: A warm-weather evening market, dinner plans downtown, families, and strolling through Los Altos Village.
The Los Altos market is a beautiful fit for the community: walkable, polished, and well-positioned for an after-work or early-evening outing. Because it runs in the late afternoon and evening, it has a different rhythm than the weekend morning markets.
What to expect:
Seasonal fruit, flowers, baked goods, prepared food, specialty items, and a downtown village setting.
Best way to enjoy it:
Make it part of a Thursday evening plan: shop the market, pick up dinner, and enjoy downtown Los Altos.
Los Gatos
Los Gatos Certified Farmers Market
When: Sundays, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Where: Downtown Los Gatos, Town Park Plaza near Main Street and North Santa Cruz Avenue
Best for: Downtown Los Gatos ambiance, seasonal produce, prepared foods, flowers, and a Sunday village stroll.
The Los Gatos Farmers Market is one of those local routines that feels very connected to the rhythm of the town. It is smaller than some of the larger destination markets in the county, but its setting gives it a special charm. You can pick up produce, flowers, eggs, mushrooms, honey, or something prepared to eat, then wander through downtown Los Gatos for coffee, brunch, or shopping.
One of the prepared-food stops locals often talk about is the crepe stand. I have not been in a while, but my personal favorite has always been the Nutella and banana crepe. Simple, warm, and absolutely worth the line when they are there.
What to expect:
Seasonal fruits and vegetables, honey, mushrooms, eggs, flowers, roasted chicken, prepared foods, and a strong downtown community feel.
Best way to enjoy it:
Go early if you want the best produce selection. Go a little later if you want to linger, grab something prepared, and fold the market into a relaxed downtown Los Gatos morning.
Milpitas
Milpitas Farmers Market
When: Sundays, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Where: Great Mall, 882 Great Mall Drive
Best for: Early Sunday shopping, East/North San Jose access, produce, seafood, baked goods, and family-friendly browsing.
The Milpitas market is a strong option for residents in Milpitas, North San Jose, and surrounding neighborhoods who want a Sunday market with easier regional access.
What to expect:
Fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, seafood, prepared foods, and seasonal items.
Good to know:
The 8:00 a.m. start is helpful for shoppers who like to get in early before the day gets busy.
Morgan Hill
Morgan Hill Farmers Market
When: Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Where: Caltrain Station area / downtown Morgan Hill
Best for: South County produce, family-friendly shopping, and a classic Saturday morning market.
Morgan Hill’s market brings together growers and food producers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Hollister, and surrounding agricultural areas. It has a more grounded South County feel and is a natural stop before or after downtown breakfast, coffee, or errands.
What to look for:
Seasonal fruit, heirloom vegetables, organic produce, baked goods, and artisan-style items. Morgan Hill is also one of the markets where handmade and locally crafted goods may be part of the experience.
Tennant Avenue Farmers Market
When: Year-round
Where: 1488 Tennant Avenue
Best for: A produce-focused stop with a more market-stand feel.
Tennant Avenue is less of a polished downtown farmers market experience and more of a straightforward produce and vendor stop. It can be useful for South County residents looking for fresh fruit, vegetables, local food, and casual vendors.
Mountain View
Mountain View Farmers Market
When: Sundays, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Where: Mountain View Caltrain Station, 600 West Evelyn Avenue
Best for: One of the largest and most destination-worthy farmers markets in Santa Clara County.
Mountain View is often described as one of the strongest farmers markets in the Bay Area. It is large, busy, well-attended, and known for its broad mix of produce, specialty foods, flowers, bakeries, and prepared items.
Why people love it:
It has a true destination feel. You can shop for the week, try something new, grab flowers, pick up a treat, and then walk into downtown Mountain View for coffee or lunch.
Local favorites to watch for:
Seasonal fruit, berries, stone fruit, flowers, mushrooms, eggs, baked goods, specialty foods, and prepared items. This is the type of market where regular shoppers often have their favorite stands and routines.
Good to know:
Parking can be busy. Arrive early for the best selection and easier parking, or plan to park in nearby downtown lots and walk.

Downtown Palo Alto’s market has been part of the community for decades and has a well-established vendor base. It is a great choice for shoppers looking for high-quality produce, specialty foods, flowers, meats, dairy, seafood, and prepared items.
California Avenue Farmers Market

Where: West Valley College, Parking Lot 3, Fruitvale Avenue and Career Way
Best for: West Valley residents, weekly produce shopping, flowers, eggs, honey, mushrooms, and a strong Saturday morning market.
Saratoga’s West Valley College farmers market is one of the stronger weekend markets in the West Valley. It is large enough to feel worth the trip, but still practical for regular grocery-style shopping. The college location also makes it easier to access than some of the tighter downtown markets, especially if you are planning to buy produce for the week.
What to expect:
Seasonal fruits and vegetables, Asian vegetables, honey, mushrooms, eggs, fresh roasted chicken, flowers, and prepared foods. This is a good market for people who want fresh ingredients, a relaxed Saturday rhythm, and a convenient West Valley location.
Local Bonus: The Saratoga Avenue Strawberry Stand
When: Seasonal, typically spring and summer
Where: 12625 Saratoga Avenue
Best for: Fresh strawberries by the basket, half-flat, or flat during peak strawberry season.
Not technically a farmers market, but absolutely worth including for anyone who knows Saratoga: the strawberry stand on Saratoga Avenue is a seasonal local favorite.
This is one of my own regular stops during strawberry season. I make it a point to visit almost weekly when the stand is open, and if you have ever picked up a flat of really ripe strawberries there, you know why people remember it.
The routine is simple: when strawberries are in season and the stand is open, stop if you see it. The best berries can go quickly, especially on warm days or busy weekends, and availability depends on the day’s harvest.
Local note:
This is one of those small Saratoga details that says a lot about the community’s agricultural roots. It is not a formal farmers market, but it belongs in the guide because it is part of how people actually shop, snack, and mark the season locally.
Sunnyvale
Sunnyvale Farmers Market
When: Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Where: Murphy Avenue at Washington
Best for: A lively downtown Saturday market with restaurants and cafes nearby.
Sunnyvale’s market is a strong Saturday option and has the benefit of being located right in the downtown Murphy Avenue area. It is a good market to pair with coffee, brunch, or a casual downtown walk.
Local favorites and practical notes:
Public community discussions often describe Sunnyvale as one of the better South Bay markets for size and downtown setting. It is a practical weekly market, but the downtown location also makes it feel like a small outing.
A Few Tips for Enjoying Santa Clara County Farmers Markets
Go early for the best selection.
This is especially true for berries, stone fruit, flowers, eggs, and popular prepared foods.
Go later if you are value-shopping.
Some vendors may be more flexible near closing, though selection will be more limited.
Bring reusable bags and a small cooler.
This is especially helpful if you are buying fish, meat, dairy, eggs, or berries and plan to stay out afterward.
Learn the seasons.
The Bay Area gives us access to a lot of produce year-round, but the best farmers market experiences still follow the seasons. Summer is excellent for berries, stone fruit, tomatoes, corn, peppers, squash, flowers, and basil. Fall brings apples, pears, persimmons, grapes, squash, and root vegetables.
Use markets as a neighborhood research tool.
If you are considering a move within Silicon Valley, spend a weekend morning at the local farmers market. Notice parking, walkability, nearby restaurants, the age mix of residents, how people gather, and whether the rhythm of the neighborhood feels like your lifestyle.
Final Thought
Farmers markets are more than places to buy produce. They are small windows into how a community lives.
Whether you are exploring Saratoga, Cupertino, Campbell, Los Gatos, Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Jose, Sunnyvale, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, or Santa Clara, these markets offer a simple way to connect with local growers, support small businesses, and enjoy the everyday lifestyle that makes Silicon Valley feel like home.
